838689 Productions is seeking actors and crew for an indie holiday feature blending family drama, comedy, music, and themes of family, identity, second chances, and rediscovery. Two Black actors, aged 65–75, are sought to play the Jones family patriarch and matriarch, Robert and Janet, respectively. Musical performance/experience is preferred for the role of Robert. Production is also hiring a gaffer, key grip, production designer, and more. Filming will begin on Nov. 15 in Los Angeles. Pay for actors is 1,020–2,000 for up to 10 days of work. Crew roles are listed as unpaid. Copy, IMDb credit, meals, and gas stipends will be provided.

“The Lucky Day”
Casting is underway for “The Lucky Day,” a psychological horror/thriller short film about Daniel, a partially blind young man caring for his mother, Mary, who is living with Alzheimer’s disease. Two Texas-based actors, aged 23 and older, are sought for the co-lead roles. Rehearsal dates are TBD. Filming is scheduled for Nov. 12–18 in Austin. Pay is 100–350 per day for four days of work.

“Supper Club”
Join the cast of “Supper Club,” a drama feature film about an ailing, widowed father who reaches out to his estranged, adult daughter, but her only response is to sign him up for a meal delivery service, leading the father to convince his aimless, young meal delivery driver to help him fake his death and confront his daughter. Actors, aged 30 and older, are sought for several roles, including the starring role of Richard. Filming will take place in San Diego on Nov. 2–20. Pay is 100–150 per day for up to 15 days of work.
