Ryan Murphy must not be a big fan of sleep with the rate at which he pumps out series. The writer and executive producer of hits such as “Nip/Tuck,” “Glee,” and “American Horror Story” isn’t content with only one show, or two if you count the seasonal “American Crime Story” series, running on FX. The creator, who has been almost exclusively with the cable network since his departure from “Glee” (“Scream Queens” is on FX parent network Fox), is now bringing his celebrity following to his new series, “Feud.” After rolling a few times, production is finally slated to begin this fall for an anticipated 2017 premiere. Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer, who’ve worked on many of Murphy’s productions, have assembled the cast that contains a plethora of stars. Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, Judy Davis, Stanley Tucci, Alfred Molina, and Dominic Burgess have all signed on to the series. The project will feature an eight-episode order and will tell the story of the rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis as they tried to revive their careers by working on “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” Production on the series is expected to take place in Los Angeles.

Ben Stiller is back in the game and carving out some time this fall for his new film, “Brad’s Status.” The comedy featuring Stiller in the lead role will find a man reflecting on his choices as he encounters old friends while taking his son on a tour of colleges. Like many in the “Facebook Age,” he is forced to confront his feelings of failure as he’s presented with the successes of his former peers. Meredith Tucker is casting the project that currently only includes Stiller. However, there’s plenty of time to stock up on actors before cameras start rolling in mid-September. Production is expected to take place on the East coast.

Dakota Johnson isn’t dabbling in “shades of grey” with her next project, “Under the Silver Lake.” The young starlet, and daughter of Melanie Griffith, is taking on a film noir about the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles. The story will follow a man as he desperately hunts for a girl who has disappeared after their hook up. Andrew Garfield will join Johnson on the David Robert Mitchell–directed film. Casting is still underway with Mark Bennett for the September-slated shoot. Production will take place in Los Angeles.

Disney’s evilest offspring are about to reemerge for “Descendants 2.” The sequel to the 2015 Disney Channel movie has yet to announce any new or returning cast. La Padura & Hart will gather the actors for the shoot that is slated to begin later this month in Vancouver, British Columbia. Plot details are sparse but do allude to the story focusing on a mischievous fairy.
