“The Gilded Age” is about to get twice as prosperous. Season 2 of HBO’s hit period drama is loading up on series regulars with 13 of its previously recurring actors being promoted.

“The Gilded Age” Season 2 Expands Its Cast
First reported by Deadline, the hit HBO period drama from “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes has expanded its Season 2 cast from 12 to 24 series regulars. Of these series regulars, 13 of them were already in recurring roles in Season 1, such as Kelli O’Hara, Donna Murphy, Debra Monk, and Kristine Nielsen.
The 13 join the 11 returning series regulars, including Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Louisa Jacobson, Blake Ritson, Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Denée Benton, Simon Jones, and Jack Gilpin. Also returning in recurring roles will be Audra McDonald, John Douglas Thompson, Ashlie Atkinson, Claybourne Elder, and Ward Horton.
Despite the news surrounding Season 2’s growing cast, there are some recurring actors who are not returning. Several recurring actors, such as Thomas Cocquerel, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Katie Finneran, and Amy Forsyth, will not appear in the new season.
The epic HBO series is expected to be released sometime in Spring 2023. Stage and screen team The Telsey Company is the casting office behind “The Gilded Age.”
