Ahead of its Season 2 premiere on Nov. 7, Prime Video has officially greenlit the young-adult romance series “Maxton Hall: The World Between Us” for a third and final season. The German boarding-school drama debuted in May 2024 and broke records as the most-watched international Prime Video original series to date. Created by Martin Schreier and Tarek Roehlinger, “Maxton Hall” stars a primarily German cast spearheaded by rising talents Harriet Herbig-Matten (“Where’s Wanda?”) and Damian Hardung (“How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)”).
For those who are interested in joining the show for its final season, here’s everything to know about “Maxton Hall.”

Based on Mona Kasten’s 2018 novel “Save Me,” Season 1 of “Maxton Hall” centers on Ruby Bell (Herbig-Matten), a scholarship student attending the elite Maxton Hall boarding school in hopes of a future at Oxford University. Everything changes when Ruby uncovers an incriminating secret about wealthy classmate Lydia Beaufort (Sonja Weißer). Lydia’s twin brother, James (Hardung), tries to silence Ruby with bribery and sabotage, but he ultimately finds himself romantically drawn to her. Despite their differences in wealth, personal values, and family expectations, Ruby and James’ slow-burning romance takes shape throughout the remainder of the season. A series of emotional trials eventually leave the fate of their relationship hanging on a dramatic cliffhanger.
Season 2 will be an adaptation of “Save You,” the second installment in Kasten’s series; the third book (and the presumptive inspiration for Season 3) is titled “Save Us.”
The main actors of the show include:
- Harriet Herbig-Matten as Ruby Bell
- Damian Hardung as James Beaufort
- Sonja Weißer as Lydia Beaufort
- Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer Beaufort
- Andrea Guo as Lin Wang
- Justus Riesner as Alistair Ellington
- Ben Felipe as Cyril Vega
- Runa Greiner as Ember Bell

The series is led by CDs Emrah Ertem (“Sing”) and Patrick Dreikauss (“The Nordic Murders”). Markus Brunnenmann and Ceylan Yildirim are executive producers, with Valentin Debler and Katja Hartwig as additional producers.
