A severed hand, a creepy cauldron, and a Halloween prop that looks completely real—on “Is It Cake? Halloween,” any of them could be dessert. The seasonal spinoff of Netflix’s hit reality baking competition series “Is It Cake?” is back, just in time for spooky season. Mikey Day (“Saturday Night Live”) returns for three 40-minute episodes, with six bakers competing for a cash prize and the title of “Is It Cake? Halloween” champion.

Before Netflix turned it into a competition, social media was full of videos featuring cakes made to look like ordinary objects. The series built on that fascination with a guessing game, inviting viewers to spot the cake alongside the judges. Here’s what you need to know about the series’ Halloween edition, and how to put yourself in the mix.

What is Netflix’s “Is It Cake? Halloween” about?

The Halloween spinoff takes the franchise’s central guessing game and gives it a spooky-season twist. On “Is It Cake? Halloween,” bakers create elaborate Halloween cakes designed to look like real objects, leaving celebrity judges to figure out which one is actually dessert. Fooling the judges keeps contestants in the running for the cash prize and the champion title.

Season 1 of “Is It Cake? Halloween” gave Netflix plenty of reasons to bring it back. The four-episode spinoff debuted in October 2025 with nine bakers and reached No. 2 on Netflix’s global English-language TV chart in its first week, drawing 5.7 million views.

Who is competing on “Is It Cake? Halloween” Season 2?

The six bakers for Season 2 are:

  • Bonne Bedingfield, an Atlanta-area artist whose company, Beautifully Baked, specializes in hyper-realistic sculpted cakes and wedding designs. She previously appeared on Food Network’s “Halloween Wars.”
  • Corinna Maguire, the artist behind Galway, Ireland–based Lovin’ From the Oven, brings a background in digital arts to her sculptural cake and chocolate work. She teaches and demonstrates internationally and is a finalist for 2026 Cake International Cake Artist of the Year.
  • Mike Elder, founder of Black Sheep Cakes in Wellington, Missouri, has built a career creating custom cakes. As a Sugar Angel volunteer with Icing Smiles, he makes celebration cakes for families of children facing critical illnesses.
  • Rodolfo Goncalves won Netflix’s “Baking Impossible” with teammate Sara Schonour and later competed as the cake artist on the Pastry Pirates team on Food Network’s “Halloween Wars.”
  • Tiphani Anderson is the self-taught artist behind Tiphani’s Cakery in Yukon, Oklahoma. She has twice taken first place in her category at the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show and previously won $10,000 and the title on Food Network’s “Cupcake Championship.”
  • Frankie Velez rounds out the group of six bakers competing this season.

Day returns as host, and each episode brings in a new trio of celebrity guest judges to be fooled by cake. WWE superstar Bianca Belair, children’s entertainer Blippi, and “Get Out” actor Lil Rel Howery take the judges’ seats in Episode 1. Episode 2 serves up a mini “Wednesday” reunion with Hunter Doohan, Isaac Ordonez, and Joy Sunday. Cedric Yarbrough (“Reno 911!”), Kristen Schaal (“What We Do in the Shadows”), and Paul Scheer (“The League”) must separate cake from fake in the finale. Alfred Street Industries produced the unscripted series. Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, and Andrew Wallace serve as executive producers.
