Now Casting: ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ New York Regional Premiere Seeks Major Roles + More

Sing the bells of Notre Dame—Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz's “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” is ready to make its New York regional premiere this winter and is seeking talent for all major roles, including Quasimodo, Esmeralda, and more! There are also gigs available in a short film about love and patience, a thriller about virtual reality, and a short invoking nostalgia!

Sing the bells of Notre Dame as a character in Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz's “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Union and nonunion talent, aged 18–60, is wanted for several lead and supporting roles, including Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Frollo, and more, in the New York regional premiere of the musical. Talent must have excellent singing voices, as well as an ability to act and move well. There are auditions by appointment on Nov. 2 and 7 in NYC and Nov. 6 in White Plains, New York. Rehearsals begin Nov. 27 or Dec. 3 in NYC, followed by tech Dec. 16–21 and performances through January 2018 at The White Plains Performing Arts Center. Pay is $399 per week for union actors and a $1,000–$1,400 flat fee for nonunion actors. Apply here!

Casting is now underway for “Patience,” a short film about “how it can be a battle letting yourself love who you want to love.” Two female actors, aged 20–30, are wanted to play the lead roles of Spencer and Carly. The film will rehearse and shoot in December or January 2018 in Los Angeles. Pay is $100 for one day, with meals provided. Apply here!

Casting is underway for “Roman Times,” a film set in The Space, “a modern bloodless coliseum” where people use virtual reality to design and compete to frighten one another. Talent, aged 18 and older, are wanted for several lead, supporting, and day player roles in the production, including the lead role of Shelley, “a bright young woman who is fed up with the lack of creativity in The Space.” The production rehearses and shoots dates TBD in NYC. Pay is $500 for the whole shoot for leads and $100 per day for day players. Apply here!

Join the cast of “Fibril,” a student short film centered on two people who meet in a laundromat, playing off of a sense of nostalgia and memorabilia. Two actors, aged 20–28, are wanted to play the lead roles of Robin and Cam. The eight-to-10-minute film will be mostly improvised, although additions may be added through rehearsals. The production will rehearse Oct. 24–30 and shoot Nov. 1–12 in Chicago, Illinois. Pay is $125 per half day and $250 per full day of work, with meals provided. Apply here!
