Now Casting: Superhero Flick ‘Venom’ Starring Tom Hardy Is Seeking Background Actors  + 2 More Gigs

In today’s casting roundup, be a part of the next big superhero blockbuster in “Venom,” the Tom Hardy-led film featuring the Marvel Comics character of the same name. There are also roles available for background actors on FX’s “Atlanta,” and for singers, dancers, and puppeteers in “Sesame Street Live!”

“VENOM” 
“Venom,” the upcoming feature film starring Tom Hardy that will launch a new series of movies from the Marvel and Spider-Man based universe of characters, is now casting actors for background roles. Talent, aged 25 and older, is currently sought to play what the production is referring to as techs. The production will shoot Nov. 27–29 in Atlanta, Georgia. Pay is $64 for eight hours of work. “ATLANTA” 
Casting continues for the FX TV series “Atlanta,” starring Donald Glover and Brian Tyree Henry as “two cousins with different views on art versus commerce on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene.” Male and female talent, aged 18–80, are needed to portray furniture movers and neighbors with vehicles in background roles. Vehicles cannot be red, white, or black for the latter role. The production will shoot Nov. 28 in Atlanta, Georgia. Pay is $64 for eight hours of work, with a $25 vehicle bump. Apply here!

“SESAME STREET LIVE!” 
Find out how to get to Sesame Street with a role in “Sesame Street Live!” a live entertainment tour based on the popular children’s show. Male and female talent, aged 18–35, are wanted for replacement and backup singers, actors, dancers, character performers, and puppeteers in new and existing tours. The production is specifically seeking youthful vocalists with urban dance styles, as well as puppeteers with preferred hand or rod puppets and “mech” heads experience.  There is an open casting call on Nov. 25 in NYC. The tour runs from six to 12 months. Pay is $800 per week for dancers, characters, and puppeteers, and $1,000 per week for singers.
