Prime Video has ordered “Escorted,” a new eight-episode rom-com from Brett Goldstein, the Emmy-winning “Ted Lasso” actor, writer, and producer who also co-created Apple TV’s “Shrinking.” Goldstein is set to star in the new series as a divorced dad in Manhattan who accidentally becomes a male escort.

“Escorted” is still in development, but here’s what else we know about the new series, including who else is attached to it and where to find casting opportunities.

What is “Escorted” about?

Per Prime Video, the half-hour, single-camera series is about “sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.”

“What makes ‘Escorted’ so compelling is that beneath all of the chaos, comedy, and secrecy is an unexpectedly tender story about people searching for connection,” Peter Friedlander, the head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, told Deadline. “Brett Goldstein and Brian Gallivan have created a series that feels daring, emotionally authentic, and entirely original.”

Goldstein executive produces, writes, and co-showruns alongside Brian Gallivan (“Shrinking,” “Happy Endings”), who also serves as an executive producer. Cooper Wehde (“The Bear”), Josh Senior (“The Bear”), and Molly Mandel (“El Tigre") are also executive producers.

Who is in the cast of “Escorted”?

Goldstein and Leslie Manville are the only cast members announced so far. Goldstein opened up about the new series, saying, “I’m so excited to bring a wholesome show about condoms, co-parenting, and cosplay to Amazon—the place where I actually buy my condoms, so it feels like a real full-circle moment,” per Deadline.
