“Barbie” Adds Kate McKinnon to Its All-Star Cast.
First reported by Deadline, SNL’s Kate McKinnon is joining the cast of Warner Bros.’ “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie as the titular doll. The last we reported on the film, Ryan Gosling was in talks to join the cast in the role of Ken; that rumor has since been confirmed, and in addition to Robbie and McKinnon, he will star opposite Simu Liu and America Ferrera. It’s unclear who any of the new additions will be playing at this time, and plot details about the film as a whole are still unknown. “Little Woman” and “Lady Bird” filmmaker Greta Gerwig is set to helm the project, which she co-wrote with partner Noah Baumbach, the latest collaboration between the two. Filming is set to begin soon in London. Allison Jones is the casting director. Find out how the veteran casting director finds talent here.
