Now Casting: ‘The SpongeBob Musical’ Needs Talent + 3 More Gigs

All aboard Royal Caribbean for its upcoming mainstage production of the Tony Award-winning “The SpongeBob Musical,” holding an open call in the coming weeks. Plus, a music video for a major artist, a series of horror-comedy branded spots, and an MFA thesis short film are casting now!  

“The SpongeBob Musical” NYC Open Call Auditions 

Royal Caribbean Productions is holding an open call for its upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning “The SpongeBob Musical.” New York City-based actors, aged 18–60, are sought for principal and ensemble roles. Invited appointments and open calls will be held on Oct. 12–14 or Nov. 10–11, with callbacks scheduled for Oct. 15–16 and Nov. 12. Rehearsals will begin in March 2027. Pay is $3,200 per month minimum for ensemble cast members, $4,000 for lead vocalists, and $5,000 for featured singers/actors, plus $483 per week for rehearsals.

Music Video for Major Artist 

Michele Mansoor Casting is seeking an eclectic group of NYC-based actors, aged 20 and older, to play dance instructors, waitresses, cowboys, and more in a music video for a major artist. Rehearsals are scheduled for Oct. 10, followed by filming on Oct. 12. Pay is $326 for the rehearsal and $715 for the session.

Horror Comedy Branded Spots Featuring Calm Brand Lead 

Los Angeles-based actors, aged 18 and older, are sought for on-camera and voice roles, including the calm recurring lead character, in a series of horror-comedy branded spots. Talent will work on Oct. 12–13. Pay is 400–500 for supporting roles and $1,500 for the lead role.

“Softshell Monsters” 

Casting is underway for “Softshell Monsters,” an MFA thesis short film about a young man preparing to move out as objects, memories, and encounters begin to blur the boundaries between space and time within the house. Chicago-based actors, aged 6–50, are sought for the lead role of JM and several supporting roles. Talent will work on Nov. 7–8 and one additional date TBD. Pay is 300–400 per day with meals and local transportation expenses provided.
