We spy a new project being filmed in London – see if you can spot it. Former Billions star Damian Lewis has been spotted, most recently in Richmond in West London, filming new miniseries A Spy Among Friends. It will see him starring opposite Guy Pearce, and ITV recently released a first look at the two veteran actors in character.
Damian Lewis Brings Depth and Mystery to 'Homeland' In addition to the UK, the project will also film in Romania, according to KFTV. Created by Alexander Cary (Homeland, Taken) the six-part 1960s-set spy miniseries comes from ITV and Sony Pictures Television.
A Spy Among Friends is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ben Macintyre that follows the true story of Nicholas Elliott (Lewis) and Kim Philby (Pearce), “two spies and lifelong friends, one of whom was betraying the other all along, at the height of the Cold War.”
Also appearing in the drama will be Anna Maxwell Martin, Stephen Kunken, and Adrian Edmondson. A Spy Among Friends will be distributed by BritBox in the UK and Spectrum in the US and is set to be released in 2022.
