Prime Video’s hit series “Cross” is returning for a second season. The crime thriller, which won the 2025 NAACP Image Award for outstanding drama series, drew attention in Season 1 for its portrayal of novelist James Patterson’s iconic Alex Cross character, played by Aldis Hodge (“Underground,” “Leverage”). Hodge executive produces the series alongside “Cross” creator, writer, and showrunner Ben Watkins (“Burn Notice”). Season 2 will premiere with the first three episodes on Feb. 11, 2026, followed by new episodes weekly. Although a third season of “Cross” has yet to be announced, here’s everything to know about the series and how you can potentially get involved for future episodes.

The crime drama is based on characters from Patterson’s Alex Cross book series, which was first published in 1993. Set in Washington, D.C., “Cross” follows psychologist-turned-detective Alex Cross (Hodge) as he investigates homicides and explores the dark minds of murderers in order to solve gruesome crimes. In Season 1, Cross is struggling with grief following the unsolved murder of his wife, Maria, when he’s pulled onto the task force to solve a high-profile murder of a local activist. During the investigation, Cross learns that his family’s safety is threatened by a potential serial killer. In Season 2, Cross will pursue a vigilante who’s targeting corrupt billionaires, according to Prime Video.
Prior to the Prime Video series, the Alex Cross books inspired three feature films: “Kiss the Girls” (1997) and “Along Came a Spider” (2001) starring Morgan Freeman and “Alex Cross” (2012) starring Tyler Perry.
The cast members returning for Season 2 include:
- Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross

- Alona Tal as Kayla Craig
- Samantha Walkes as Elle Monteiro
- Caleb Elijah as Damon Cross

- Johnny Ray Gill as Bobby Trey
Newcomers Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, and Wes Chatham will join the cast.

Kim Coleman (“Everybody Hates Chris”) is the CD. In 2021, Coleman spoke with Backstage about her casting approach and shared her advice for actors. “Be prepared for your opportunity before it comes,” Coleman advised. “Audition for projects big or small and focus on performance and training. Become so good that your talent is undeniable. And when the opportunity presents itself for you to audition or be reviewed, give us no choice but to say, ‘This person has something special, let’s see where they fit.’ ”
“Cross” is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios. In addition to Watkins and Hodge, EPs include Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, and Patrick Santa.

Filming for the first two seasons of “Cross” took place in Ontario, Canada, so we recommend bookmarking our Toronto casting calls page for updates in case a third season is announced. Until then, check out these jobs that are currently seeking talent:
