Nearly a decade after its Season 1 finale, Prime Video’s acclaimed spy thriller “The Night Manager” is finally making a return. Golden Globe winner Tom Hiddleston (“The Avengers”) reprises his leading role as Jonathan Pine, alongside Season 1 costar Olivia Colman (“The Crown”), as they begin a new undercover operation, this time in South America. While Hugh Laurie (“House”) won’t return as villain Richard Roper, he’s involved with the series behind the scenes as an executive producer.

Season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Jan. 11, 2026, with three episodes, followed by weekly Sunday releases. With early talks of a third season on the way, here’s what you need to know if you’re hoping to join the cast of “The Night Manager.”

What is “The Night Manager” about?

Based on John le Carré’s 1993 espionage novel of the same name, “The Night Manager” was adapted for television by British writer and theater director David Farr. Season 1 introduces former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston), who is working as the night manager of a luxury hotel in Cairo when he’s recruited by task force chief Angela Burr (Colman). Pine’s mission is to infiltrate the inner circle of illegal arms dealer Richard Roper (Laurie), but when his cover is blown, he finds himself in serious danger.

Season 2 picks up with Pine living under a new alias and operating as an MI6 officer within a London surveillance unit. When Pine crosses paths with Teddy Dos Santos (Diego Calva), a Colombian businessman tied to Roper, he’s pulled back into the center of a risky operation.
