Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will bring the “WandaVision” trilogy to a close when Disney+’s “VisionQuest” miniseries premieres on the streamer on October 14. A follow-up to “Agatha All Along,” the show will see star Paul Bettany return to his role as Vision, while also welcoming James Spader back to the MCU as Ultron. Todd Stashwick (Paladin), Ruaridh Mollica (Tommy Maximoff), Lauren Morais (Lisa Molinari), T’Nia Miller (Jocasta), and Emily Hampshire (E.D.I.T.H.) will round out the cast. There’s no word yet on whether Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Vision’s wife, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Terry Matalas, the creator of “VisionQuest,” will also serve as showrunner and director. Here’s everything else we know about the new MCU series.

What is “VisionQuest” about?

Disney+ hasn’t revealed much about the show’s plot, but Deadline reported that “VisionQuest” will follow Vision “as he tries to regain his memory and humanity.” At the end of “WandaVision,” the character was destroyed and reconstructed into an all-white version of Vision’s original body. Diehard fans of the MCU may recall that this storyline sounds an awful lot like the White Vision arc from the 1989 comic. During this period, Vision was kidnapped and dismantled by the government. The Avengers soon reclaim his parts, bringing what remains to scientist Hank Pym so he can reconstruct Vision. His attempt results in the creation of White Vision, an emotionless android devoid of the original being’s memories and humanity (sound familiar?). While “VisionQuest” may take some creative liberties when bringing this classic story to our screens, we’re confident this will likely be the series’ main focus.

Who is the casting director for “VisionQuest”?

Lillie Jeffrey and Reg Poerscout-Edgerton (“Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” “Avengers: Doomsday”) are the primary CDs connected to this project. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if Sarah Halley Finn, the MCU’s resident CD, also had a hand in casting this series since she was behind both “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along,” the chronological predecessors to “VisionQuest.” Here’s how Finn cast “WandaVision” and the rest of Disney+’s new MCU.
