Following her final season on Netflix’s “The Lincoln Lawyer,” Neve Campbell will headline and executive produce “The Shore,” a new HBO Max series adaptation of Katie Runde’s multigenerational novel.

The drama reunites Campbell with “Party of Five” co-creator Chris Keyser, who will write the series, per Deadline. Developed by Anonymous Content and Teley-Vision, the high-profile adaptation follows a New Jersey family navigating a medical crisis while running a beachside real estate business. Campbell is the first cast member announced for the project, but additional roles and a release date remain under wraps, as the series is still in early development. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming show, along with a look at similar casting opportunities currently available.

What is “The Shore” about?

Based on Runde’s 2022 debut novel of the same name, “The Shore” explores the multigenerational story of Brian and Margot Dunne (Campbell), a married couple living on the Jersey Shore with their daughters, Liz and Evy. Tragedy strikes when Brian is diagnosed with an aggressive, deadly brain cancer. Brian’s cognitive decline brings on unpredictable personality changes, leaving him increasingly dependent on Margot and the rest of the family for care. As Brian’s condition worsens, Margot struggles to keep the family’s beachside real estate business afloat while caring for her grieving daughters. Margot ultimately makes a shocking decision that changes the course of her family’s future.

Who is the casting director for “The Shore”?

“The Shore” does not yet have a specific casting director attached to the project. Because the story is set at the Jersey Shore, New Jersey could serve as a filming location, though HBO Max has not announced production locations. Here’s everything actors need to know about New Jersey’s film and TV production boom.
